Ambulatory care is any medical care delivered on an outpatient basis.
Physician offices are the most common sites for delivering ambulatory care. Physicians providing ambulatory care include specialists in family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, cardiology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, and dermatology.
Visits to the St. Nicholas Emergency Department, which do not require hospital admission, are an important part of our ambulatory care. The Sheboygan Surgery Center is another example of ambulatory (outpatient) care services.
St. Nicholas Hospital also provides the following ambulatory services: blood tests, X-rays, endoscopy and biopsy procedures of superficial organs.
