When babies come into our lives and are too quickly and quietly gone...they leave lasting footprints on our hearts. At St. Nicholas Hospital, we believe those lives are precious and should be honored and remembered no matter how brief their life was.

HALO - Hope After Loss Organization at St. Nicholas Hospital was created to support parents and their families with bereavement support and resources offered as a courtesy to anyone...

• Experiencing miscarriage, ectopic, stillbirth, or early newborn death regardless of when or where the loss took place
• Needing post abortion grief support for elective or medical terminations performed at a facility other than St. Nicholas Hospital
• Involved in the loss; including siblings, grandparents, and other family/friends

HALO incorporates a multi-disciplinary team approach to meet the varied needs of our patient population as well as our organization. This team is comprised of:

• Social Workers
• Nurses
• Pastoral Care
• Volunteers
• Photographers (to document the life, however brief)

Comfort is given in every area of need: physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Guidance is offered to enable the family to make decisions when they face the devastating loss of their baby.
