St. Nicholas Hospital to Open FastCare Clinic in Shopko

Sheboygan, Wis. —St. Nicholas Hospital is partnering with Shopko to open a new FastCare clinic in Sheboygan. The new clinic will open this July at 518 S. Taylor Drive, within the Sheboygan Shopko store.

"The opportunity to bring FastCare to Sheboygan fits perfectly with our commitment to provide convenient access to quality healthcare in our communities," said Ed Bradley, Administrative Director, Business Development, St. Nicholas Hospital. "We recognize the changing trends in healthcare and FastCare is a convenient way to bring choice to patients."

FastCare differs from a regular trip to the doctor in the following ways:

• The clinic accepts walk-in patients rather than appointments, with an emphasis on short waiting periods.
• Services are offered for a flat fee of $54.
• FastCare is open seven days a week—including weekday evenings—every day of the year except Christmas.
• Services include "everyday" healthcare needs of patients over 18 months of age, including sore throats, earaches, sinus congestion, flu symptoms, urinary tract infections, and basic laboratory services.
• Patients will be seen by a nurse practitioner or physician assistant who will refer to a primary care physician if necessary.

"Many people wake up each morning challenged with a daily balancing act that includes an overflowing schedule. The new FastCare clinic can help today's busy families quickly and easily take care of their minor healthcare needs," said Bradley.

St. Nicholas Hospital nurse practitioners or physician assistants will staff the new FastCare clinic under the direction of a primary care physician. Services will be provided according to the guidelines for retail clinics as defined by the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Medical Association.

The hours for St. Nicholas Hospital FastCare clinic will be:

Monday-Friday: 9:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Sunday: 10 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Holidays 10 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
