Taking Care of Women's Health

Sheboygan , Wis. — Because women are the caregivers of their families, they often forget to make their own health a priority. During National Women's Health Week (May 8 - 14), St. Nicholas Hospital and Prevea Health remind women that they need to visit a doctor, make sure their screenings are up-to-date and pause to think about their well-being. The theme for 2011 is "It's Your Time" - time for women to improve their health through physical activity, good nutrition, seeing a medical professional, avoiding risky behaviors and paying attention to mental health.

St. Nicholas Hospital will help women tackle their number one killer - heart disease, and foster child-friendly discussion about what can be a difficult topic - puberty.

National Women's Health Week
Cardiovascular Risk Factors in the 21st Century
Cardiologist Nalini Rajamannan, MD, will discuss this topic. Free blood pressure screenings are available.
