FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Senator Feingold's Fox Valley Regional Coordinator Visits St. Nicholas Hospital Pagel, who is responsible for constituent outreach in 17 counties in northeast Wisconsin, discussed with hospital leadership Feingold's position on healthcare reform. Pagel said healthcare is the number one issue the Senator hears from people in Wisconsin . "There are 46 million Americans uninsured. Sen. Feingold believes Americans have the right to quality and affordable healthcare," said Pagel. Feingold will better evaluate the healthcare reform policy in early June 2009 when it comes out. Hospital leaders also asked about Feingold's views on the Stimulus Bill that Congress recently passed. Pagel shared with the group that Feingold did not support the bank bailout. He also does not support earmark legislation. While Feingold has concerns about the Stimulus Bill, he feels it will jump-start the economy. With Hospital staff, Pagel discussed the Employees Free Choice Act that the Senator supports and co-sponsors. She said that Feingold wants to hear from his Wisconsin constituents as to how this legislative bill could be improved. Prior to leaving, Pagel toured the Hospital's Comprehensive Wound Care Center that provides hyperbaric oxygen therapy for patients and the Emergency Department.
