FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE St. Nicholas Hospital Friends Outreach Program Receives the Catholic Health Association's 2009 Achievement Citation Certificate Sheboygan, Wis. --The St. Nicholas Hospital Friends Outreach program received the Catholic Health Association's 2009 Achievement Citation certificate Friends Outreach offers a variety of health services that include holding health education sessions and screenings, promoting wellness and healthy lifestyles, raising awareness in the community on the issue of domestic violence, and broadening programs that help underserved and minority individuals and families. Under the leadership of its Program Specialist, Mary Paluchniak, RN, BSN, the program collaborates with numerous community organizations including the Hmong Health Advisory Committee, the Hispanic/Latino Task Force, the Dental Access Committee, the Domestic Violence Education for Faith Leaders Committee, and the Alcohol and Other Drugs Abuse Committee. Since the program's inception in 2001, the Friends of St. Nicholas Hospital have provided Friends Outreach with financial support. "The Friends of St. Nicholas Hospital continues to provide funding to Friends Outreach because it inspires all who are associated with the program as it illustrates the mission of St. Nicholas Hospital that is Faithful to the spirit of the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis and dedicated to suffering humanity for His sake," said Cynthia Bertsch, Director, Fund Development and Advocacy.
