FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Amy Gumieny, St. Nicholas Hospital Diabetes Center Selected for Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Institute Training Program Gumieny started her employment at St. Nicholas Hospital eleven and a half years ago and began working in the Hospital's Diabetes Center for the past five years and for the past two years, Gumieny has been a certified diabetic educator. The goal of the Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Institute is to transform diabetes care. This is a unique opportunity that allowed Gumieny to participate in a customized curriculum of classroom instruction and training on the latest practice standards, the safe and effective use of diabetes technologies, reimbursement solutions, and delivery care models. Designed and customized by a faculty of nationally recognized diabetes experts, the training addressed the needs for information and skills training of health professionals. It focused on training the health professionals who work at the community level to help their diabetic patients live healthier and longer lives. The Institute underwrites all program costs for health care professionals to attend the Institute, including travel and accommodations.
