St. Nicholas Comprehensive Wound Care Center/Hyperbaric Medicine Recognized for Healing Wounds and Changing Lives
Sheboygan , Wis. — St. Nicholas Hospital physicians, leaders and clinicians gathered on May 10 to celebrate the Center of Distinction Award, which was presented to the hospital's Comprehensive Wound Care Center/Hyperbaric Medicine by Diversified Clinical Services, Inc. (DCS), the world's leading wound care management company. In 2010, the St. Nicholas Center achieved outstanding patient outcomes for twelve consecutive months, including patient satisfaction over 90%, an 89% wound healing rate within 30 median days to heal, among other quality outcomes.
The Comprehensive Wound Care Center/Hyperbaric Medicine is a member of the Diversified Clinical Services Network of more than 325 centers, which provides access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating two million chronic wounds. In the St. Nicholas Center, more than 150 patients in the community were provided specialized treatment for chronic and non-healing wounds.
"Our Center heals the chronic wounds of patients who might otherwise experience amputation or other life-threatening conditions," said Andy Bagnall, President & CEO, St. Nicholas Hospital. "We are proud to provide this specialized and needed service to our community."
Interim Comprehensive Wound Care Center/Hyperbaric Medicine Director, Robert Wilson, agrees. "It's a privilege to be part of a great collaborative effort between the hospital, physicians and DCS. Together, we are able to heal patients in our community and get them back to happy, healthy lives," he said.
