Community Care It is the mission of St. Nicholas Hospital to bring Christ's healing presence to all who come to us by providing family centered, compassionate care without regard for race, creed, or ability to pay. As a Catholic hospital and in keeping with the philosophy of Hospital Sisters Health System, St. Nicholas Hospital is respectful of the dignity of every person and provides services in a courteous manner regardless of financial status. St. Nicholas Hospital offers financial assistance to those patients in need. Guidelines, however, have been established to ensure that the Hospital's limited resources are used to treat patients who are truly unable to pay and are not consumed by those unwilling to pay or who have alternate pay sources. Any patient or responsible party who indicates that s/he may be in need of financial assistance may apply. If eligible, the Community Care Program will provide coverage of 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%. Determination of need is limited to those patients and/or families whose past 12 months income does not exceed the minimum annual income guidelines established by the United States Department of Health and Social Services and published periodically in the Federal Register. Applicants are required to make an appointment for an interview to discuss their needs. Please call Patient Accounts at 920-459-4727 or 920-459-4683 to make an appointment or for more information.
