Over 700 runners and walkers await the start of the 24th annual St. Nicholas Hospital Freedom Run

St. Nicholas Hospital Freedom Run Results Announced

Sheboygan, Wis. -- Over seven hundred runners and walkers participated in St. Nicholas Hospital 's twenty-fourth annual Freedom Run on July 4.

Born just 37 days ago, Maverick Amenson, the youngest participant, completed his first two-mile race in 21:52 (being escorted by his mother in a running stroller).The Freedom Run kicked off Sheboygan 's Fourth of July celebrations and featured a five- and two-mile run, a team run, and a non-competitive two-mile walk. New this year was chip timing which provided accurate timing and immediate results for race participants.

Proceeds from the Freedom Run benefit St. Nicholas Hospital through the Friends of St. Nicholas Hospital. All contributions given to the Friends provide charity care and improved health services to our patients and our communities.

Placing first overall in the men's five-mile run was Jeffrey Rentek with a time of 26:23. Rachel Brandt placed first in the five-mile women's division with a time of 33:35. Adam Lang placed first overall in the men's two-mile run with a time of 10:05; and Alexis Genke placed first overall in the women's two-mile run with a time of 13:06. The winner of the team run was Team Bemis.
